SF Film

Director of Digital Content and Publications

During an intense four year ride at one of the United States’ preeminent film organizations, I was responsible for producing a suite of publications for four editions of the San Francisco International Film Festival. Components included a 200-page Program Guide, its Miniguide companion and a feature-rich website and mobile app, all created simultaneously within a two-month timeframe each year.

During my tenure I worked with the organization to relaunch the San Francisco Film Society’s website. Working with a pro-bono agency, I advanced and refined the user interface and the site’s look and feel. Solicited proposals from back end engineering firms and oversaw the site’s buildout and the development of a powerful content management tool. After launch I continued to write, edit and update content and graphics on a daily basis.

Moreover, I contributed as a writer, commissioner and editor of texts in support of SF Film’s programming initiatives, including film notes, articles and essays, newsletters, grant narratives, ad copy and website texts. Along the way I helped articulate the organization’s institutional voice and served as its guardian of style.
