Creative Director
Over five years as Creative Director for Fandor, a movie streaming service for independent and international film lovers, I led a team that developed the company’s brand, style guide and social strategy. Working at Fandor was an amazing experience. It allowed me to work with passionate film lovers like myself, but also to learn and develop new skills and proficiencies on the job.
Branding
I led Fandor’s visual rebranding initiative and managed development of a new core logo and word mark. The process included brainstorming and ideation, selecting and managing the creative agency and working with internal stakeholders to coalesce buy-in. After a six-week process, I presented the work to Fandor’s Board of Directors and created detailed specifications for extending the new logo to all digital and print applications.
User Experience
Working with Fandor’s Product and Design teams, I presided over a top-to-bottom redesign of Fandor’s desktop experience. We conducted competitive analysis, focus groups and user testing to facilitate informed, prioritized design decisions. I delivered responsive, device-agnostic designs and worked closely with engineering resources to create dynamic style sheets. Related projects included UX design for Fandor’s first iOS, Android and Roku apps, and the company’s editorial website.
Marketing Design & Presentations
I worked directly with Fandor’s marketing team to develop, test and launch email newsletters, advertising campaigns, and collateral tailored for special events. And I was always primed for jumping through hoops to help the Executive Team with presentations for potential funders and partners.
Social Media
With and for Fandor’s marketing department, I created hundreds of visual assets for our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages including videos, infographics, GIFs and images. These helped build Fandor’s Facebook community from 15K (August 2012) to 200K+ Likes.
Video Production
During my final two years at Fandor, I leaned into video production and video editing as it relates to visual storytelling. I created dozens of videos celebrating cinema culture for our editorial site, platform partners and social media channels.
